It has to be a big pat on the back for the valiant journalists from the West Briton (and sister newspapers) to say thank you for attempting to remind the blow in Prime Minister MAY that we do just still live in a democracy, well in Cornwall at least!
For daring to attempt to film the woman, the reporters were 'banged up' in a factory room, refused permission to watch her arrive at a factory in the appropriately named 'Water ma Trout' industrial estate in Helston, to cover the factory visit or to report the visit in any meaningful way.
Perhaps Mrs MAY and friends have been watching too many films from North Korea and taking hints from Kim Il-Sung!
Were the reporters cautioned and reminded of their rights or even allowed a phone call we ask as their Prime Minister was whisked away for chips up 'Meva' (Mevagissey) ? Why, in Kernow and not even a pasty? Another PR flop and a few more votes lost!
The Westminster Prime Minister had a pretty rough old time in Bristol as well apparently, being booed by the public. Mind you, there are a lot of Cornish expats up there!
It really is time that these Westminster politicians remembered the good old days when the public were allowed access to them and were allowed to challenge them to their faces. How democracy has changed and not for the better!
Her utterly bizarre behaviour soon went viral on social media and then in both the London and International press.
What a shambles!
PS. If we hear 'strong and stable' one more time, we will collectively vomit. It really is getting like one of Grandpa's old 78rpm records with the needle stuck!
